About James

​James leads Venture Search’s global Hedge Funds & Proprietary Trading practice, managing searches across quant, systematic and discretionary trading. James and his team partner with global multi-strat hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and market makers to deliver top talent across trading, research, analytics, and quant.

Prior to joining Venture Search, James spent over a decade with a financial services recruitment firm, rising from researcher to Head of Client Services & Business Development for the UK and EMEA. Earlier, he led Risk, Compliance and Quant functions across multiple regions, giving him a broad understanding of how front office and trading connect with control functions & back office.

James holds a BA in History from the University of Kent. On weekends, he can usually be found with his two young children, catching as much sport as he can fit in between family commitments.
