Our client is an independent placement agent focused primarily on private equity mandates, advising leading private markets managers on fundraising and investor engagement.
The firm is looking to add an Analyst or Associate to the team in a hybrid project management / investor coverage and sales capacity. This is an opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial platform with significant exposure to private equity fundraising processes and direct interaction with both fund managers and institutional investors.
The successful candidate will ideally come from an LP / institutional investor background and bring a strong understanding of private equity, manager selection and the institutional fundraising process.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will combine elements of project management, investor relations, fundraising execution and business development, including:
- Supporting the execution of private equity fundraising mandates from initial engagement through to close
- Managing and coordinating multiple workstreams across active fundraising processes
- Developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices and other allocators
- Supporting investor outreach, meeting preparation, follow-up and ongoing engagement
- Helping clients refine fundraising strategy, positioning and investor targeting
- Conducting research and analysis on prospective investors, existing LP relationships and the broader private markets landscape
- Preparing investor materials, presentations, fundraising updates and internal reporting
- Tracking fundraising pipelines, investor activity and engagement across multiple mandates
- Working closely with senior team members to develop new investor relationships and identify fundraising opportunities
- Contributing to the firm's broader business development and client coverage efforts
Candidate Profile:
The firm is particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience on the LP / institutional investment side.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of private equity and institutional investing, combined with excellent communication and relationship-management skills, as well as:
- 2 - 6+ years of relevant experience, depending on level
- Comfortable operating in a commercial, relationship-driven environment
- Strong at managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Highly articulate, with the confidence to engage with senior investors and fund managers
- Commercially minded and interested in the intersection of private markets, fundraising and investor relationships
- Entrepreneurial, proactive and comfortable working in a lean team environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A strong written and verbal communicator
The firm is open to hiring at either Analyst or Associate level, depending on experience.
More experienced candidates may also be considered for a VP-level opportunity.
The firm has an office in NYC, but is open to candidates working remotely across the US.
