We are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially astute Bitumen Trader to lead and expand our clients bitumen trading activity across key African markets. The successful candidate will drive origination, manage physical flows, and build sustainable supply chains in infrastructure-driven economies. This is a hands-on trading role requiring market knowledge, relationship management, and strong operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Origination & Market Development: Build and maintain relationships with buyers (e.g., governments, road contractors, distributors) across Sub-Saharan and North African markets.

Trading Execution: Structure and execute spot and term physical bitumen trades, managing the full trade lifecycle from deal negotiation through delivery.

Supply Chain Management: Liaise with suppliers, terminals, vessel owners, and logistics teams to ensure efficient sourcing, blending, shipping, and delivery.

Market Intelligence: Monitor regional infrastructure projects, tender activity, government procurement plans, and competitor movements to identify trading opportunities.

P&L Ownership: Take full commercial responsibility for the African bitumen book, optimizing margins and managing risk exposure.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with operations, finance, credit, legal, and compliance to ensure deal integrity and performance.

Strategic Growth: Support longer-term initiatives such as JV partnerships, asset acquisition (e.g., storage/blending), and strategic supply agreements in key growth markets.
