Compliance Assistant

About the Role
An established international wealth management firm based in the DIFC is seeking a Compliance Assistant to join its growing Compliance team. This newly created position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior compliance leadership while gaining broad exposure to compliance, AML, financial crime prevention, and client onboarding activities within a regulated financial services environment.
The successful candidate will support the firm's regulatory and compliance framework, assist with client due diligence processes, and help ensure adherence to relevant UAE regulatory requirements. The role involves regular interaction with Relationship Managers and key stakeholders across the business, making it ideal for an ambitious professional looking to build a long-term career in compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end onboarding process for individual and corporate clients.
- Conduct KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews.
- Perform sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), and adverse media screening.
- Assist with source of wealth and source of funds assessments.
- Maintain accurate client records and compliance documentation.
- Support periodic KYC reviews and client remediation projects.
- Assist with AML monitoring, client risk assessments, and regulatory reporting activities.
- Maintain compliance registers, policies, and internal records.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers and clients to obtain required documentation and information.
- Support compliance monitoring activities, audits, and regulatory requests.
- Assist with compliance-related projects and regulatory initiatives as required.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience within Compliance, AML, KYC, Client Onboarding, Financial Crime, or a related field.
- Previous experience within wealth management, private banking, asset management, or another regulated financial services environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of AML/CFT regulations, KYC requirements, and client onboarding processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to develop a career in compliance.
- Professional qualifications such as ICA, ACAMS, or CISI would be advantageous but are not essential.
