We are working with an international commodities trading house with offices in 20 countries and a presence in 80 regions. They trade cross-commodities, predominantly dry bulk.
Objective – Carry out trading activities aligned with the established trading strategy, while continuously monitoring portfolio positions, Profit and Loss (PnL), and market conditions.
Provide comprehensive support to the product team by enhancing their understanding of the Energy Complex, offering a detailed insight into the Thermal Coal supply and demand scenario.
Key Responsibilities:• Conduct in-depth analytics pertaining to the supply and demand dynamics of Coal and various other commodities.
• Ensure strict adherence to trade control guidelines, maintaining continuous portfolio compliance.
• Thoroughly map Coal Derivatives and Energy Complex Paper markets, equipping commodity desks with essential information and tools for effective physical book management.
• Apply strategic derivative portfolio approaches to generate value, assume positions, and optimize the portfolio in response to diverse market trends and economic conditions.
• Execute derivative trades within established limits, aligning with portfolio objectives.
• Monitor derivative exchanges by closely tracking movements in exchange indices and real-time news to identify intra-day, short-term, and long-term trading opportunities.
• Utilize appropriate techniques for derivatives valuation modeling.
• Collaborate with the commodities trading team to execute derivative trades, effectively managing associated risks.
• Prepare periodic reports on the status of the trade portfolio.
