Executive Director  Investments

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Executive Director to play a key leadership role within a rapidly growing investment platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across multiple asset classes while contributing to portfolio strategy, capital allocation decisions, and overall business growth.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Executive Director will lead transaction execution, manage stakeholder relationships, mentor investment professionals, and help shape the long-term investment strategy of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Support the development and execution of the firm's investment strategy across targeted sectors, geographies, and asset classes.

  • Identify investment themes, market trends, and emerging opportunities aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives.

  • Provide recommendations on capital allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend value creation initiatives where appropriate.

Deal Origination & Execution

  • Source and originate investment opportunities through established industry networks and strategic relationships.

  • Lead all stages of the investment process, including opportunity assessment, financial analysis, valuation, structuring, due diligence, negotiations, and execution.

  • Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to senior management and investment committees.

  • Coordinate with legal, tax, technical, commercial, and financial advisors throughout transaction processes.

Asset Management & Value Creation

  • Work closely with portfolio companies, operating partners, and management teams to drive performance improvement and strategic initiatives.

  • Support business transformation, operational optimisation, growth strategies, and capital planning across investments.

  • Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators and report on portfolio developments.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, advisors, developers, operators, and strategic partners.

  • Represent the organisation in negotiations, industry events, and key stakeholder meetings.

  • Mentor and develop junior investment professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, risk, treasury, and business leadership teams.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all investments adhere to internal governance frameworks, investment policies, and risk management standards.

  • Present investment opportunities and portfolio updates to governance committees and senior leadership.

  • Maintain high standards of compliance, transparency, and fiduciary responsibility.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related discipline.

  • MBA, CFA, CAIA, or other relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.

  • 12–18+ years of relevant experience gained within private equity, sovereign wealth funds, investment management, principal investing, infrastructure, real estate, private credit, or investment banking.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading complex transactions from origination through execution.

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and investment analysis capabilities.

  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and presenting to investment committees and boards.

  • Excellent commercial judgement and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing teams.

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience investing across real estate, infrastructure, private equity, credit, or alternative investments.

  • Exposure to large-scale investment platforms and institutional capital deployment.

  • Experience operating in international markets with a strong understanding of regional investment dynamics.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
