Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grains Trader to join our team. The Senior Grains Trader will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk, and driving profitability through the trading of grains contracts across major exchanges and electronic trading platforms. This individual will leverage their expertise in grains markets, fundamental analysis, and trading strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve superior trading results.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in grains contracts, including futures, options, and spreads, across major exchanges and electronic trading platforms.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies, including speculative and hedging positions, to capitalize on market inefficiencies and generate profits.
  • Analyze market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, crop forecasts, weather patterns, geopolitical factors, and government policies, to inform trading decisions.
  • Monitor market liquidity, price movements, and order flow to optimize trade execution and minimize slippage and transaction costs.
  • Manage risk exposure and position limits by implementing appropriate risk management techniques, including stop-loss orders, hedging strategies, and portfolio diversification.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends, trading opportunities, and arbitrage opportunities in grains markets.
  • Collaborate with research analysts, agronomists, and industry experts to gather market intelligence, exchange insights, and develop proprietary trading strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry news, market events, and regulatory changes affecting grains markets, and adjust trading strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate trade records, performance metrics, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide market commentary, trade recommendations, and risk assessments to clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
