An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Insurance Officer to join a leading energy trading and shipping organization based in UAE. This role plays a critical part in managing the end-to-end insurance function for the business, including policy administration, risk evaluation, claims management, and premium budgeting.
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in industrial or energy-sector insurance, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across technical, finance, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance Policy Management
Supervise implementation and administration of insurance policies (blanket and direct).
Review insurance clauses in commercial contracts to ensure adequacy and compliance.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to manage policy changes, contractor coverage, and new asset onboarding.
Claims & Risk Evaluation
Review and validate insurance claims documentation.
Assist with filing and negotiating claims with insurers.
Interpret asset valuation reports and reconcile against insurance registers.
Evaluate and track risk assessments and follow up on mitigation recommendations.
Budgeting & Premium Estimation
Calculate estimated premiums using volume and asset data.
Manage the preparation and control of the annual insurance premium budget.
Input and maintain premium records in internal systems (e.g., ETRM platforms).
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with internal risk and integrity frameworks, as well as relevant regulatory standards.
Support tender evaluation processes for insurance-related services.
Prepare insurance awareness materials and lead workshops for internal teams.
Team Oversight & Reporting
Supervise and train junior staff in the insurance and claims function.
Provide regular updates and performance insights to management through structured reporting.
