We are seeking a Trading Contracts Specialist to support our clients Front Office (FO) and broader commercial teams in the structuring, drafting, negotiation, and execution of trading-related agreements. The role requires a strong understanding of commercial and contractual risk, with a focus on maximizing value, ensuring policy compliance, and minimizing exposure across physical commodity transactions.
Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Contract Advisory:
Provide pre- and post-deal commercial advice to the Front Office regarding deal structure, contract risks, financial exposures, and opportunities for value creation or leakage. -
Contract Drafting & Review:
Review, approve, and draft confirmations, amendments, and counterparty responses to ensure accuracy and alignment with agreed commercial terms and internal systems. -
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure all contractual documents comply with internal policies including compliance language, governing law and jurisdiction, confidentiality, and sovereign immunity. -
Risk Reporting:
Identify and report deviations or breaches of company policy via the Incident Management System. -
Complex Deal Support:
Support FO and other departments in negotiating and reviewing term deals, tenders, storage agreements, and master agreements—emphasizing value capture and exposure mitigation. -
Dispute Management:
Assist in resolving contract-related disputes in coordination with Legal, offering strategic guidance to internal stakeholders. -
Third-Party Terms Negotiation:
Review and negotiate amendments to third-party terms and conditions to reduce contractual risk and ensure adherence to company standards. -
Contract System Management:
Manage and maintain contract templates and clause libraries within internal contract management systems. -
Records Management:
Ensure all contract documents and confirmations are accurately recorded and archived in compliance with company policy. -
Training & Onboarding:
Assist the Department Manager in training new joiners and supporting onboarding related to trading contracts. -
Policy Support:
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of workflows, procedures, and policies related to physical contract lifecycle and compliance. -
Operational Risk Control:
Support the Department Manager in enforcing company codes of conduct and minimizing operational risks.
