We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Fundamental Analyst to join our client's commodities trading team, focusing primarily on grains and oilseeds markets with secondary exposure to fertilisers, bunkering fuels, and FX. The role will provide deep market insight to support trading, origination, and risk management decisions across global physical and derivatives markets.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct supply and demand analysis across grains and oilseeds (wheat, corn, soybeans, soymeal, etc.) at a global and regional level, incorporating weather patterns, crop progress, trade flows, freight, and macroeconomic factors.

Track fertiliser market fundamentals (ammonia, urea, phosphates) and assess their impact on grain/oilseed production costs and farmer planting incentives.

Monitor bunkering fuel markets and shipping cost developments to evaluate freight spreads and their effect on trading margins.

Follow FX movements (USD, BRL, EUR, RUB, etc.) and analyse correlations with commodity pricing and trade competitiveness.

Build and maintain data models to forecast production, consumption, trade flows, and price movements.

Prepare market reports, presentations, and trade ideas for senior traders, management, and clients.

Provide real-time market updates to support daily trading activity and risk positioning.

Liaise with trading desks, shipping, and risk teams to align market views with commercial strategy.

Develop and maintain a global network of industry contacts, including producers, exporters, brokers, and analysts.
