Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Crude Trading to lead our crude oil trading desk. The Head of Crude Trading will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies, managing risk, and driving profitability across crude oil markets. This individual will leverage their extensive knowledge of crude oil markets, trading dynamics, and geopolitical factors to optimize trading operations and deliver superior results for the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute trading strategies to buy, sell, and transport crude oil across global markets, including benchmark grades such as Brent, WTI, and Dubai.
  • Monitor market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical events, production trends, and inventory levels, to identify trading opportunities and manage risk.
  • Analyze market trends, price movements, and trading patterns to inform trading decisions and optimize trade execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with crude oil producers, refiners, traders, and other market participants to facilitate trading activities and access market intelligence.
  • Manage a team of traders and analysts, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to drive performance and foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Collaborate with risk management, finance, operations, and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk limits, and trading policies.
  • Develop and maintain trading models, algorithms, and risk management tools to enhance trading performance and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and assess trading performance, P&L attribution, and key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to identify new trading opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to promote the firm's brand and thought leadership in crude oil trading.
