We are seeking an experienced Distillates & Gasoline Oil Derivatives Trader to join our clients trading team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, executing, and managing derivative trading strategies across middle distillates (diesel, jet, gasoil) and gasoline markets. This role requires a strong understanding of physical oil markets, paper trading instruments, and risk management techniques to optimize P&L while supporting the firm’s physical trading activities.

Market Trading & Strategy

Execute proprietary trading strategies across distillates and gasoline derivative products (ICE Gasoil, RBOB, Naphtha, ULSD, etc.) including swaps, futures, options, and spreads.

Identify market inefficiencies, arbitrage opportunities, and structure trades to capture value.

Develop directional, time-spread, and volatility-based strategies to manage price exposure and generate consistent returns.
Risk Management
Monitor and manage trading positions within approved risk limits, ensuring full compliance with internal risk frameworks.
Hedge physical cargo exposures, optimize book structure, and maintain accurate mark-to-market valuations.
Perform sensitivity, scenario, and stress testing to ensure robust risk control.
Market Analysis
Continuously track supply/demand fundamentals, refinery economics, freight dynamics, and macroeconomic indicators impacting distillates and gasoline markets.
Maintain close relationships with brokers, exchanges, counterparties, and market intelligence providers to stay ahead of market trends.
Produce timely trade ideas, market commentary, and performance reports for management.
Collaboration
Work closely with the physical trading desk to provide market color and structure hedging solutions.
Liaise with risk, operations, treasury, and finance teams to ensure smooth trade execution, clearing, and settlement.
Support the development of junior traders and contribute to the growth of the derivatives team.
