Fundamental L/S Analyst - Japanese Equities

Responsibilities: As a Long-Short Fundamental Equities Analyst, you will collaborate with a world-class team of professionals to identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across the equity markets. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough research and analysis to identify long and short investment opportunities in a diverse range of industries and regions.
- Developing in-depth financial models and valuations to assess potential investment targets.
- Evaluating macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and company-specific factors to make informed investment recommendations.
- Collaborating with portfolio managers and fellow analysts to formulate investment theses and strategies.
- Presenting your analysis and recommendations to internal stakeholders, contributing to the decision-making process.
- Monitoring and tracking the performance of investments and adjusting strategies as needed.
Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A strong background in finance, economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Fluent Japanese speaking
- Proven experience as a fundamental equities analyst, ideally within a hedge fund, asset management firm, or investment bank.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth research and financial modeling.
- A deep understanding of global financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and industry dynamics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, enabling you to convey complex ideas and insights effectively.
- A track record of successful investment recommendations and generating alpha in both long and short positions.
