The Junior Trading Operator will assist with the execution and follow-up of oil trading transactions with a strong emphasis on trucking operations and inland logistics. The role requires day-to-day coordination between traders, suppliers, logistics providers, and customers, ensuring seamless physical delivery and accurate documentation of petroleum product trades.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the end-to-end execution of trades involving refined products (e.g., diesel, gasoline, LPG, etc.)

Coordinate trucking logistics, including loading, dispatch, routing, and delivery of petroleum products to clients

Monitor and track cargo movements to ensure timely and accurate deliveries

Liaise with transporters, terminals, and clearing agents to resolve operational issues

Prepare and manage shipping/trucking documentation (invoices, BOLs, PODs, etc.)

Input and reconcile cargo data in internal trading and logistics systems

Assist with demurrage tracking and claims

Ensure compliance with contract terms, Incoterms, and HSSE policies

Support traders and senior operators with ad hoc operational and commercial requests
Key Requirements:

1–3 years of experience in trucking logistics, trading operations, or supply chain within the oil & gas or logistics industry

Hands-on experience with trucking operations is essential

Prior exposure to African markets (e.g., West or East Africa cross-border logistics) is highly preferred

Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to manage multiple shipments under tight timelines

Good communication and negotiation skills with service providers and internal stakeholders

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and operational systems (ERP, TMS, etc.)

Knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documents, and trading processes
