Job Title: Associate – M&A (Energy Transition)

Overview
A leading investment banking boutique focused on the energy transition is looking to hire an Associate to join its London-based M&A team. The platform is active across M&A advisory, debt advisory, capital solutions and power markets, and is experiencing strong growth following a number of senior hires and a robust pipeline of mandates with leading financial sponsors and developers.
The Role
The successful candidate will support the execution of a strong pipeline of predominantly sell-side M&A transactions across the energy transition and infrastructure landscape.
You will work closely with senior bankers and collaborate with adjacent advisory teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of transaction types including M&A, structured solutions and capital raises.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead execution workstreams across sell-side M&A mandates
- Build and review detailed financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, comparables, transaction comps)
- Prepare marketing materials including teasers, IMs and management presentations
- Coordinate due diligence processes and manage key stakeholder interactions
- Mentor and support junior analysts within the team
- Work closely with senior team members on client engagement and transaction strategy
Candidate Profile
- 2.5–4 years’ experience in M&A advisory, ideally within infrastructure, energy or energy transition
- Strong preference for sell-side M&A experience; candidates with relevant debt advisory, structured finance or buy-side experience will also be considered
- Proven experience across M&A processes including divestments, acquisitions and capital raises
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skillset
- Experience working in lean teams with high levels of responsibility
- Ability to manage workstreams independently with oversight from senior bankers
- Strong communication skills and client-facing capability
- Prior experience mentoring junior team members
Background
Candidates may come from leading investment banks, specialist boutiques or relevant principal investment platforms. Additional exposure to the infrastructure or renewable energy sector (e.g. through advisory, ratings, or technical/commercial roles) is advantageous.
