M&A Associate – Energy Transition (London)

Overview

A leading, London-headquartered investment banking boutique focused on the energy transition is seeking an Associate to join its growing M&A team. The firm operates across M&A advisory, debt advisory, capital solutions, and power market advisory, and is experiencing strong momentum driven by recent senior hires and a robust pipeline of mandates with leading infrastructure investors and sponsors.

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing, specialist platform with strong deal flow across the European energy and infrastructure landscape.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a lean, experienced team and play a key role in the execution of sell-side M&A transactions across the energy transition space.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and leading day-to-day execution of sell-side M&A mandates

  • Managing workstreams across live transactions, including financial analysis, valuation, and process coordination

  • Preparing marketing materials, financial models, and client deliverables

  • Coordinating with internal teams across debt advisory and capital solutions

  • Engaging directly with clients, investors, and counterparties

  • Mentoring and overseeing junior analysts

The role offers significant responsibility, strong deal exposure, and regular interaction with senior stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • 2.5–4 years’ experience in M&A advisory from a leading investment bank or boutique

  • Strong preference for experience in sell-side M&A, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or energy transition sectors

  • Additional experience in debt advisory, structured finance, or principal investing is advantageous

  • Proven involvement across M&A transactions, including divestments, acquisitions, and capital raises

  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skillset

  • Ability to operate independently in lean teams and manage multiple workstreams

  • Experience mentoring junior team members

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management

Candidates with complementary experience from infrastructure advisory, rating agencies, or technical/commercial advisory backgrounds will also be considered.

  • Competitive compensation package

  • Private healthcare

  • 25 days annual leave

  • Central London office location

  • Visa sponsorship available (if required)

  • Immediate start preferred, with flexibility for the right candidate
