We are seeking a Market Risk Analyst to join our clients global oil trading business. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, and reporting trading exposures across physical and paper oil markets. This role requires close interaction with front office traders, middle office, finance, and senior management to ensure effective risk measurement, control, and insight into trading performance.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor daily market risk exposure across all trading books (physical and derivatives), ensuring alignment with approved limits and internal policies.

Perform daily P&L analysis, variance attribution, and reconciliation of trading results.

Calculate and report Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, and scenario analysis.

Identify and explain drivers of P&L and exposure fluctuations, providing actionable insights to traders and management.

Support the development and enhancement of risk models, analytics tools, and reporting dashboards.

Work closely with trading teams to understand positions, optionality, and embedded risks within physical and paper contracts.

Maintain robust risk data integrity by validating pricing inputs, forward curves, and position data.

Assist in assessing new products, trading strategies, and structured deals for risk implications.

Liaise with IT and quant teams to implement new systems, improve data flows, and automate reporting processes.

Contribute to limit setting, back-testing, and control framework improvements.
