As a Middle Office Analyst for the grains trading desk, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing risk, supporting trading activities, and ensuring effective reporting and structuring. You will be responsible for understanding and mitigating cargo risks, analyzing P&L generation, and handling vessel-related exposures. This role requires a combination of agricultural knowledge and experience in both middle office functions and grains trading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management: Monitor and analyze grains and cargo risk, ensuring that risks are properly managed and mitigated. Understand and manage exposure from the vessel desk, including spot and time charters.
- P&L Analysis: Track and analyze how P&L is generated within the grains trading desk, ensuring accuracy and transparency in profit and loss reporting.
- Curve Marking: Mark curves related to grains trading, understanding the seasonal factors and how they impact pricing and trading strategies.
- Middle Office Activities: Manage the vessel book, including the segmentation of spot and time charters. Coordinate with the trading desk to ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on trading activities, risk management, and P&L performance. Ensure that reports are accurate and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Structuring: Focus on structuring trades and transactions to optimize trading strategies and manage risk effectively.
