A leading global proprietary trading firm with offices across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia is looking for a Network Engineer to join its global infrastructure team fully remote or, in Chicago. The firm trades a wide range of products — including futures, equities, commodities, options, fixed income, and cryptocurrencies — across the world’s most competitive markets.

This is a hands-on role for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in high-performance environments. You’ll work on complex networking challenges — from multicast routing and latency optimization to automation, monitoring, and incident response — supporting the backbone of a fast-paced electronic trading operation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, L2/L3, BGP, OSPF, multicast, QoS, and latency tuning
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in a 24/7 mission-critical trading environment
  • Automate and streamline network operations to enhance efficiency and resilience
  • Design, manage, and support remote datacenters across global locations
  • Implement and maintain advanced network and security monitoring tools
  • Collaborate with trading, systems, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless connectivity
  • Participate in on-call rotations and weekend maintenance when required
