Position Overview:
The Market Risk Manager role with this esteemed global firm is a pivotal opportunity for an experienced professional in the field of market risk analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building and leading the risk function, working closely with trading team in Dubai. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management in Geneva, the Market Risk Manager will be responsible for implementing robust risk management strategies and frameworks across the organization, and leading a team of 3.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive market risk management framework, incorporating best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with trading teams to identify, assess, and manage risk exposures related to physical oil trading activities.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and scenario planning to evaluate potential risks and opportunities in the global energy market.
- Design and implement risk monitoring systems and tools to ensure effective risk oversight and control.
- Provide regular risk assessments and reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments that may impact the risk profile of the organization.
Requirements:
- 6+ years experience covering market risk or product controller in an oil trading firm
- Management experience of leading a team of at least 2
- Open to relocate to Dubai/already based in Dubai
