We are supporting a leading global cross-commodity trading house with a strong presence across energy, metals, agri, and freight markets. As part of continued growth in their oil trading activities, they are looking to hire an experienced Physical Cross-Barrel Oil Trader to join their Dubai team.

This is a senior, front-office trading role focused on cross-barrel oil trading, covering crude and refined products. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and executing physical trades, managing risk, and running their own PnL-owning book, with full accountability across sourcing, sales, and deal structuring.

Responsibilities

  • Trade physical crude and refined products on a cross-barrel basis across global markets.

  • Originate and execute arbitrage and flow trading opportunities across regions, grades, and delivery points.

  • Run and manage an independent trading book with full PnL and risk ownership.

  • Structure deals incorporating logistics, storage, blending, timing optionality, and financing elements.

  • Manage exposure through appropriate hedging strategies and derivatives where required.

  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with producers, refiners, traders, end-users, shipowners, and brokers.

  • Work closely with operations, shipping, risk, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.

  • Monitor market fundamentals, price structures, freight, and geopolitical developments impacting oil markets.

  • Ensure compliance with internal risk limits, credit frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a physical oil trader, with proven exposure to cross-barrel trading.

  • Strong understanding of crude and/or refined product markets, including pricing structures and arbitrage dynamics.

  • Demonstrated track record of consistent PnL generation.

  • Solid knowledge of physical logistics, shipping, storage, and trade finance.

  • Existing commercial network across producers, refiners, and trading counterparties.

  • Strong risk management mindset and commercial judgment.

  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and comfortable operating in a high-performance trading environment.
