We are representing a leading proprietary trading firm looking to expand their risk team in their Amsterdam or Dubai offices. They are seeking (quantitative) risk manager to join the team with ambitious growth plans due to recent strong performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze market risk exposures within the energy markets, including oil, gas, power, and renewable energy sectors.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate closely with trading desks, quantitative analysts, and other stakeholders to provide insightful market risk analysis and support decision-making processes.
  • Develop and enhance risk models and methodologies specific to the energy markets.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, regulations, and industry developments that may impact risk profiles and inform the team accordingly.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in market risk management within the energy markets, preferably in a commodities trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of energy market dynamics, products, and associated risks.
  • Proficiency in risk analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to make informed risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, such as Basel III, MiFID II, and EMIR, is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are a plus.
