Senior Quantitative Analyst (Electricity)
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Senior Quantitative Analyst specializing in Electricity Storage (battery/solar/wind) to join a high-caliber team within the energy trading sector. This role is ideal for those with strong analytical skills and a background in quantitative modeling, systematic trading, and market forecasting.
The position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge pricing strategies, algorithmic trading models, and data-driven decision-making tools. The company is particularly interested in individuals who can bridge the gap between quantitative research, trading, and risk functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance pricing models and quantitative trading strategies for electricity assets.
- Contribute to the design and optimization of systematic trading tools used by front-office teams.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across trading, origination, and risk management.
- Maintain and refine existing tools, ensuring they align with evolving market dynamics.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background, ideally a PhD or Master’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expertise in systematic and algorithmic trading strategies, with a focus on energy markets.
- Understanding of day-ahead and real-time markets for asset-optimization.
- Experience with machine learning (ML) and AI techniques for price forecasting.
- Proficiency in Python, with additional skills in (C#/F#) or Rust being advantageous.
- Working knowledge of financial derivatives and their applications in trading.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across teams.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
