Senior Quantitative Analyst (Electricity)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Senior Quantitative Analyst specializing in Electricity Storage (battery/solar/wind) to join a high-caliber team within the energy trading sector. This role is ideal for those with strong analytical skills and a background in quantitative modeling, systematic trading, and market forecasting.

The position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge pricing strategies, algorithmic trading models, and data-driven decision-making tools. The company is particularly interested in individuals who can bridge the gap between quantitative research, trading, and risk functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance pricing models and quantitative trading strategies for electricity assets.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of systematic trading tools used by front-office teams.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across trading, origination, and risk management.
  • Maintain and refine existing tools, ensuring they align with evolving market dynamics.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background, ideally a PhD or Master’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Expertise in systematic and algorithmic trading strategies, with a focus on energy markets.
  • Understanding of day-ahead and real-time markets for asset-optimization.
  • Experience with machine learning (ML) and AI techniques for price forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Python, with additional skills in (C#/F#) or Rust being advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of financial derivatives and their applications in trading.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a dynamic role within a fast-evolving energy trading environment. If you’re looking to apply your quantitative expertise in a market-facing role with significant impact, we’d love to hear from you.
