Software Engineer – (Low-Latency Infrastructure)

Position Overview
Our client is seeking talented software engineers to join a highly experienced team focused on building and enhancing a cutting-edge low-latency trading platform. This role involves close collaboration with traders, quantitative analysts, and fellow engineers to design and implement key components of the trading infrastructure. Areas of responsibility include low-latency order management, trade execution, tick data infrastructure, backtesting and simulation systems, and modeling and calculation engines.
The ideal candidate will work with modern software development tools and agile methodologies, with an emphasis on continuous integration, automated testing, and high-performance code development within a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firm-wide SDKs and services that support:
- Operating system abstraction
- Strategy deployment
- Latency monitoring and optimisation
- Telemetry and performance analysis
- Operational visibility tools
- Automation frameworks
- Contribute to the development of highly performant, reliable, and scalable systems
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust trading infrastructure
- Participate in an agile development environment with a strong focus on testing and code quality
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from a four-year accredited university
Required Experience & Skills:
- Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11/14/17), preferably within a Linux environment
- Familiarity with Python and/or JavaScript is a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles
- Experience with multithreading, real-time systems, and socket programming
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Self-driven and motivated with a strong interest in trading technology
- 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in financial services or trading is a significant plus
- Experience with ultra-low latency programming is highly desirable
