The Trade Finance Executive will support the commercial, operations and treasury teams by managing all trade finance activities related to letters of credit, guarantees, financing structures and banking relationships. This role ensures smooth execution of physical commodity trades by securing timely, compliant and cost-efficient financial instruments while maintaining strong internal controls and risk oversight.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review and issue Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, Guarantees and related trade finance instruments
• Liaise with banks to negotiate LC terms, credit lines, financing costs and documentation requirements
• Review sales and purchase contracts to ensure trade finance terms align with commercial, operational and risk parameters
• Coordinate with operations and logistics teams on shipment schedules, document preparation and LC compliance
• Monitor LC presentations, shipping documents, amendments and discrepancies
• Support traders with pre- and post-trade financing requirements, including receivables finance, inventory finance and structured trade products
• Maintain daily communication with treasury regarding liquidity planning, funding needs and cash flow forecasting
• Reconcile trade finance charges, bank fees and interest calculations
• Ensure all trade finance activities comply with internal policies, KYC, sanctions and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records of facilities, utilisation, expiries and collateral
• Assist in onboarding new banks, reviewing facility agreements and coordinating renewals
• Identify process improvements to streamline workflows and reduce operational and financial risk
