We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Trade Finance Officer to support the full cycle of trade finance activities for physical oil trades. This role will involve close collaboration with traders, operations, banks, and counterparties to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all financial instruments supporting international oil transactions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Letters of Credit & Bank Instruments

Draft, review, and amend incoming and outgoing Letters of Credit (LCs) in accordance with UCP600 and ISBP guidelines

Liaise with banks, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely issuance, negotiation, and settlement of LCs

Manage Standby LCs, Bank Guarantees, and open account transactions as required

Monitor documentary collection and handle discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
2. Transaction Execution Support

Collaborate with traders, operations, and shipping teams to ensure trade documentation aligns with contractual and LC requirements

Ensure accurate and timely preparation, submission, and tracking of all required shipping and financial documents

Support margin call processes and the timely settlement of trades

Monitor payment cycles and ensure cash flow forecasting aligns with trade cycles
3. Bank & Counterparty Relations

Maintain relationships with local and international banks; assist in negotiating credit lines and trade finance terms

Monitor utilisation of banking facilities and ensure compliance with internal limits and terms

Coordinate with compliance teams for KYC, AML, and sanctions checks for trade counterparties
4. Risk Management & Reporting

Identify, assess, and mitigate trade finance-related risks across the transaction lifecycle

Maintain up-to-date records of LC usage, banking fees, and financial exposure per counterparty

Prepare regular reports for management on trade finance activities, facility usage, and payment status
