We're looking for an experienced vol trader in Commodities derivatives. The role is Dubai based, however candidates will be considered from global markets (relocation to Dubai will be required). The position joins a fast growing platform within an established global institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Employ your expertise to diligently monitor financial markets, identifying lucrative trading opportunities based on volatility patterns, news events, and market trends.
  • Develop and implement robust trading strategies, utilizing options, futures, and other derivatives, to maximize gains from changes in market volatility.
  • Execute trades swiftly and accurately, utilizing advanced trading platforms and algorithms.
  • Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess market risks and optimize trading strategies.
  • Skillfully manage existing trading positions, employing risk management, hedging, and making necessary position adjustments.
  • Foster collaboration with research teams and fellow traders to share insights, exchange ideas, and optimize trading performance.
  • Stay informed about market news, economic events, and regulatory changes that may influence volatility and present trading opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate trading records are maintained, and comprehensive reports on trading activities, profitability, and risk metrics are generated.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance trading models, algorithms, and strategies to elevate trading performance and profitability.
  • Remain updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new trading tools to remain at the forefront of volatility trading.

 

Requirements:

  • Track record trading commodities and FX futures, options, and OTC products.
  • Sound macro understanding of global commodities markets.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field. A master's degree or CFA designation would be a valuable asset.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record as a volatility trader or in a similar quantitative trading role within a financial institution, hedge fund, or proprietary trading firm.
  • Showcase strong analytical skills, combined with a profound understanding of financial markets, derivatives, and trading strategies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in using trading platforms, order management systems, and trading software.
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and risk management techniques.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment, showcasing strong decision-making skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities, effectively collaborating with colleagues and exchanging trading ideas.
  • Illustrate a history of successful trading and consistent profitability.
  • Display knowledge of programming languages like Python, R, or MATLAB, which would be considered advantageous.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of market regulations and compliance requirements.
