This includes oversight of public markets, private markets (including private equity, venture capital, and direct investments), and real estate holdings. The CIO will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term investment strategy aligned with the family’s objectives, risk tolerance, and values, while preserving and growing generational wealth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive, multi-asset class investment strategy.

  • Establish and maintain an investment policy statement (IPS) reflecting the family’s goals and risk appetite.

  • Communicate clearly and regularly with family stakeholders on investment performance, opportunities, and risks.

Portfolio Management & Oversight:

  • Oversee a diversified portfolio across public equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other alternatives.

  • Source, conduct due diligence on, and recommend new investment opportunities across all asset classes.

  • Manage asset allocation, rebalancing, liquidity needs, and risk exposures.

  • Evaluate and monitor existing investment managers and direct investments.

Private Markets & Real Assets:

  • Lead sourcing and evaluation of private investment opportunities, including co-investments and direct deals.

  • Oversee the management and performance of the family’s real estate portfolio, both operational and investment-focused.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with sponsors, fund managers, and operating partners.

Operational & Risk Management:

  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and accounting advisors to ensure investments are structured and managed efficiently.

  • Implement best-in-class processes for reporting, compliance, and risk management.

  • Lead or manage a small team or external consultants supporting investment execution and operations.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant investment experience across public and private markets, with real estate exposure strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience in a family office, endowment, foundation, pension fund, or multi-asset allocator role.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead investment strategy and make thoughtful allocation decisions.

  • Strong network across fund managers, deal sponsors, and the broader investment ecosystem.

  • Exceptional communication skills, discretion, and ability to work closely with UHNW families.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
