Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fertilizer Trading to lead our fertilizer trading desk. The Head of Fertilizer Trading will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fertilizer trading activities, managing risk, and driving profitability across global markets. This individual will leverage their deep understanding of fertilizer markets, supply chain dynamics, and trading strategies to optimize trading performance and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement trading strategies for fertilizer products, including nitrogen, phosphates, and potash, to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risk.
- Manage the execution of fertilizer trades, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, and distribution, across domestic and international markets.
- Monitor global fertilizer markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors, to inform trading decisions.
- Analyze market fundamentals, crop forecasts, weather patterns, and industry trends to identify trading opportunities and optimize trading positions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, producers, distributors, and other market participants to facilitate trading activities and negotiate favorable terms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk management, operations, finance, and legal teams, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Manage risk exposure and position limits by implementing appropriate risk management techniques, including hedging strategies, inventory management, and financial derivatives.
- Lead a team of traders, analysts, and support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a high-performance culture and achieve business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and technology enhancements to streamline trading operations and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, trading metrics, and financial performance to evaluate trading performance and identify areas for improvement.
